“Bread of Life”
Recently I read about a market
research interviewer who was stopping people in a grocery store
after they had selected and placed bread in their basket. Some
people refused to be interviewed, but others were willing to take a
little time to respond to the man's questions.
After one woman picked up a loaf of
"Best Bread" (fictitious name), the interviewer asked the
woman if she would be willing to participate in a survey, to which
she agreed. He said, "I see you chose 'Best Bread' today. Do you
believe that 'Best Bread's' advertising had anything to do with your
selection?"

The woman looked shocked and
responded, "Of course not. I'm not influenced by that sort of thing
at all." The interviewer asked, "Then why did you choose 'Best
Bread?'" She said, "Because it has vitamins that improve your life
in eight ways."
It doesn't take a genius to conclude
that the woman was obviously influenced by the hype used in selling
"Best Bread." Advertisers realize that a good message repeated
often produces results. Sometimes the same advertisement will be
presented several times during a very short time frame.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the best message
ever sent, and we as
Christians are to convey the good news over and over again. God
promises that repeated sales messages bring tremendous results. The
words of God are recorded by Isaiah as follows: "As the rain and
the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without
watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields
seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes
out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will
accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent
it." (Isaiah 55:10-11)
The best message about bread was
uttered by Jesus Christ: "I am the
bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who
believes in me will never be thirsty."
(John 6:35) The best bread of all is not found in a grocery store.
THE BEST BREAD OF ALL IS JESUS!
