Let Your Light
Shine
During the
Christmas season as you drive around town at night, lights of joy
brighten many streets. It makes me think of John’s message
concerning the arrival of Jesus.
“In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light
shines in darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”
(John 1:4-5)
John went on to say that he himself was not the light, but that the
true light was coming into the world. The true light was born of a
virgin, lived a perfect life as our example, and taught marvelous
lessons in parables and beatitudes to bring light to those willing
to let His light shine in their lives. At this time of year when
some homes exhibit light and others do not, we are reminded that the
same principle holds true spiritually. Many lives remain dark, but
Jesus challenges each of us
“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven.”
(Matthew
5:16)
