MARK PROWELL

BACKGROUND:

Mark Prowell was raised in Mexia, Texas where his parents were very active in Northcrest Church of Christ.  His father has been an Elder there for 35 years, and Mark served there as a Deacon.  While in Albuquerque, Mark served as a Deacon and Elder; his direct responsibility was oversight of Albuquerque Children’s Home and a long-time mission point in Swaziland and the Manzini Bible School, now known as African Christian College.  In fact, he is still very involved as a member of the Board of Trustees of the College.  In every place where Mark and Deborah have lived they have been active in many aspects of service.  They have taught classes, led small groups, been in leadership positions, and supported the youth and children’s programs in every way.

CAREER:
For the past four years Mark has been employed by Fleetwood Logistics as the CEO of the company   From 1992 to his arrival in Lufkin, Mark was the CEO for two separate investment groups; during this time the Prowell’s lived in Madison, Wisconsin; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Grapevine, Texas.

FAMILY:
Mark and Deborah have been married for 32 years and have 2 sons, Josh and Aaron..  Josh is 27 years old and has been married to Trista two years.  They live in The Colony where they attend and are very active in the Highland Oaks Church of Christ.  Aaron is 24 years old and lives in Wichita, Kansas where he is active in the East Point Church of Christ.  Both of them are leaders of a small group, and Aaron traveled to Africa last summer on a mission trip sponsored by East Point.

HOBBIES:
Golf, travel, and reading

VISION FOR CENTRAL:
My vision is to move the congregation from being internally focused to focusing our efforts on seeking the lost and showing the world we are different because we have Christ in our lives.  We should be the light to the world, not to ourselves.
