On Sunday, May 18, 2008 the Central Deacons honored their six elders with a surprise presentation in recognition of their"servant-leader" hearts.  Each elder was given a personal tribute by one of the deacons and was then presented with a symbolic "foot-washing towel," embroidered with the Central logo and  I Peter 5:12: Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to  be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve…

Then the elder's wives, who are "women worthy of respect...and trustworthy in everything" (I Timothy 3: 11) were given a special tribute and were presented a leaded crystal cross in recognition of not only the support of their husbands, but also for their individual active & vital roles within the Central family.

The final tribute to these Godly leaders was a "pledge of support, unity and love" from the entire Central body.  This demonstration of support was followed by the congregation's gathering around their elders as Eli Borden offered a prayer of blessing upon our elders & wives.
