Paul White |
Background:
Paul, the son of a gospel minister, was born in Norman,
Oklahoma, but grew up in three locations where his father preached:
Ardmore, Oklahoma; Cahokia, Illinois; and Corsicana, Texas. He graduated
from High School in Corsicana and obtained his college degree from the
University of Texas-Arlington, followed by a law degree from Baylor
University. After marrying Janet Hand in December, 1977 and upon his
graduation from law school, the young couple moved to Lufkin in August,
1978.
Career:
Paul is Judge of the 159th Judicial District Court in Lufkin,
Texas, having been appointed to the bench in March, 2001, and elected in
2002 and 2006. He previously practiced law as a civil trial attorney with
the Zeleskey Firm from 1978 until March 2001. Janet was employed as a
special education teacher in the Lufkin public schools until the birth of
their children beginning in 1982, but returning to work outside the home in
2001 as a State Farm Insurance Field Agency Secretary.
Ministry Roles:
Paul has taught Bible classes for all ages and
served as Deacon of Education for 20 years at Central. In March, 2004 Paul
was selected as an Elder. Janet has been an active member at Central,
teaching Bible classes, coordinating Vacation Bible School and accepting
virtually any role called upon to fulfill.
Family:
Paul and Janet have three children: Meredith, Michael and
Marshal. Meredith, a 2004 graduate of Harding University, is a marketing
director living in Dallas. Michael is a 2008 Senior at Harding University,
seeking admission into medical school. Marshal is a 2008 Senior at Lufkin
High School, seeking admission into Christian colleges. All three children
have been active participants and leaders in youth activities at Central.
Hobbies:
Cooking, fishing, Panther (LHS) sports.

desperate need of the Cross.

Believers who take on the yoke of Christ as fellow-yoke servants, accepting
one another in Christ for His labor.

Believers known for their attention to the needs of people. |
