The Way Forward

​Do you have a firm idea of the way forward right now? I don’t know what “the way forward” means to you. Maybe it means finding a new job, maybe it means figuring out what’s wrong and why you always feel awful, maybe it means missing family and wanting to be closer. During this time maybe it simply means surviving another day. Whatever that means to you I’m fairly certain your answer is “no” I do not have a firm idea of the way forward right now; I’m taking this day by day and I have no idea what tomorrow will bring. This tends to be the case more often than not in life but especially during a chaotic time such as this it can be incredibly challenging to “see” a way forward. If you feel like you do have a firm way forward I believe it’s very possible that you have taken Proverbs 3:5-6 to heart. We’ve found that God calls us to trust Him. He challenges us not to rely on our own understanding. He demands that we acknowledge Him in all our ways. And what is His response when we live a lifestyle fully dependent on Him? “He will make your paths straight”. He will show you the way forward. He will clear up the uncertainty. This is not saying that IF you do this THEN God will do that. This is saying that IF you rely on God, God will clarify what is truly valuable in this world and direct your path in that direction. It may not be the way forward you wanted and prayed for but I guarantee it’ll be the BEST way forward! Spend time reading Proverbs 3:5-6 today and begin fully leaning on God to lead you in the way forward.
